House Fire

This will be my first personal blog post since starting this site. However I wanted to apologize to any of the audience I might have for not blogging recently on my new internet interests. To be honest I havn't even been online due to the destruction of all my belongings in my recent house fire.

On Tuesday, July 21 at 2:30am the house I live at with 2 of my friends was struck by lightning. It wasn't until 3 am when I woke up with my room full of smoke. I immediatly woke both of my roommates up and had Ryan call the fire department. The smoke alarm, located between the bedrooms in the hall way, did not go off until after everyone was downstairs and headed out the door a few minutes following. The firefighters arrived within 5 - 10 min but took them 2 and a half hours to extinquish the flames that had caught between the roof and the ceiling of my bedroom. Better yet they were unable to break through the roof so they had to fight the fire from within my bedroom where all my electronics were located.

Yes everyone made it out ok, no health damage to any of us. What I did find out is that firefighters prefer to fight fires from within the house and that it actually makes it much easier for them, so for the sake of our home's structure I am glad that is how they took care of things, but my personal belongings would say otherwise.

On a brigther note, I moved into a new apartment building with the same two roommates last Tuesday and was back on my feet very quickly thanks to insurance and the multitude of friends that stepped forward and helped when we were at need the most. Today's news includes the delivery of my new Dell Studio 17 Laptop (which should kick butt) and hopefully replacing my Playstation 3 (60GB).

I will get back to work on finishing my theme for this blog as well as other personal work I had been working on as soon as I get caught back up in my courses which are now suffering quite a bit.

I am sorry to hear all that incident but I am happy to know that you are alright.

Glad you're ok

I'm glad you're back on your feet Matt. Now get up and running so we can go on some "new ventures"! Ha!

BTW, I might be considering a Dell Studio but want to see the prices of their new E-Family line (w/ Centrion 2) when they launch on Tuesday the 12th.

What's going on?

I know you're back on your feet by now. What's up with the stagnant stench of an un-updated blog?!?

Get to work and post something!
